#137 - Starry Aspens
This scene is another of my “While you were sleeping” series. I love to photograph what the human eye can not see. Looking up into the aspen canopies in daylight shows the glorious contrast of yellow against blue. If only we could see the same beauty at night. Thanks to the camera we can, because it accumulates light over time to bring out in color what our poor human vision can see only in silhouette. This exposure ran for 63 minutes leaving a circular pattern of star trails behind the pattern of aspen branches. The North Star is the center dot of the star wheel. This image is a limited edition run of 250 total of all sizes combined. Each print will be numbered.
