#144 Mayflower Gulch moonlight, Summit County, Colorado
This two story tower defies the passing of many years, standing stoically in lighthouse fashion. It was constructed to support a suspended cable that ran to a mine located high above on the background ridge. Ore cars were run down the cable to the valley floor avoiding otherwise perilous terrain. The top terminal still stands and amazingly the cable remains suspended to this day. See if you can spot the top terminal and the cable. Moonlight alone lights this 7 hour long exposure. Clouds betray their passing as evidenced by the gaps in the star trails.
