# 9 - Moonlight and Steam: Geyser Basin, Yellowstone Park
This photo of dead trees in the geyser basin in Yellowstone Park looks more like a painting than any other photo I have taken or seen. The soft, air brush look was caused by steam drifting behind the dead snags over a period of 20 seconds on a night when the temperature was -20. No filters were used. The tranquil scene is illuminated only by moonlight.
